Friday the 14th I was finally able to fly a bow kite.
The first thing I noticed was the bars seem so flimsy from what I'm used to but handling was pretty responsive. I took a 13 meter kite out with pretty light winds and was riding a 137 Best Board not sure on all the details. All I know is I was struggling to keep going. I wasn't too impressed with the first bow kite I've flown. My 16 Meter C kite was plenty powerful enough that day. I got upwind a little and then the kite started falling backwards.. never a good sign! The kite hit the water and I thought that bows were the easily relaunchable kite... Well this one wasn't budging I rode the current into shore and called it a day.
I hope to get out on a day with stronger winds and really see what the hype is on these bow kites. I'm sure I'll like them more once I get used to them but I was really hoping to just take the kite out and kill it on the water! Unfortunately I crashed the kite and felt like an ass...
